Product Description

The 2X series rotary vane vacuum pump Higher Vacuum Level up to 6.7×10⁻² Pa (5×10⁻⁴ Torr)

I. Introduction

The 2X series rotary vane vacuum pump is an oil-sealed mechanical vacuum pump and is one of the most common and classic rotary vane pump series in China. Its working pressure range falls within the rough vacuum category. The "2X" typically denotes "Two-Stage Rotary Vane," meaning the pump consists of two single-stage pumps connected in series, allowing it to achieve a higher vacuum level and a lower ultimate pressure compared to single-stage pumps.

Its operating principle involves a rotor eccentrically mounted inside a cylindrical stator, making tangential (line) contact. Two (or more) vanes slide in slots within the rotor. As the rotor turns, centrifugal force and springs push the vanes against the stator wall, creating isolated chambers that cyclically change in volume, thereby performing the intake, compression, and exhaust processes. The vacuum pump oil serves to seal, lubricate, and cool the system.

II. Advantages

  1. Higher Vacuum Level: As a two-stage pump, it achieves a high ultimate vacuum, up to 6.7×10⁻² Pa (5×10⁻⁴ Torr), far exceeding liquid ring pumps.

  2. Stable Pumping Speed: Maintains a stable pumping speed across a wide pressure range (from atmosphere to ultimate vacuum).

  3. Compact Structure, Small Footprint: Integrated design combines the pump, motor, and gas ballast valve into one unit, making installation straightforward.

  4. Versatile Functionality: Most models are equipped with a Gas Ballast Valve, which allows for the pumping of small amounts of condensable vapors (like water vapor), preventing them from condensing and mixing with the oil. This extends oil life and maintains pump performance.

  5. Simple Operation & Easy Maintenance: Mature and simple structure, easy to understand and operate. Routine maintenance primarily involves regular changes of the vacuum pump oil and oil filter.

III. Key Technical Parameters

  • Model Example: 2X-4, 2X-8, 2X-15, 2X-30, 2X-70 (The number usually indicates the nominal pumping speed in L/s).

  • Pumping Speed: Typically ranges from 4 to 150 liters per second.

  • Ultimate Pressure:

    • Ultimate Partial Pressure: ≤ 6.7×10⁻² Pa (≤ 5×10⁻⁴ Torr)

    • Ultimate Total Pressure: ≤ 1.3 Pa (≤ 1×10⁻² Torr) Note: Total pressure includes the partial pressure of condensable vapors.

  • Motor Power: Ranges from 0.55 kW to 11 kW, depending on the model.

  • Inlet Port: Typically uses quick-flange connections like KF25, KF40, or DN50.

  • Oil Capacity: The oil reservoir capacity varies from a few liters to over twenty liters, depending on the model.

  • Standard Feature: Usually comes standard with a Gas Ballast Valve.

  • Cooling Method: Typically air-cooled.

IV. Application Fields
The 2X series rotary vane pump is a fundamental workhorse for achieving rough and medium vacuum, often called the "backbone of the foreline," and is widely used in:

  • Foreline/Backing Pumping: Serving as the backing pump for high vacuum pumps like Roots pumps, diffusion pumps, and turbomolecular pumps.

  • Vacuum Metallurgy & Heat Treatment: Vacuum annealing, vacuum brazing, vacuum sintering, etc.

  • Vacuum Coating: Used as a backing pump for optical coating, decorative coating, and other PVD/CVD processes.

  • Electronics Industry: Evacuation of vacuum switch tubes, electron tubes, and cathode ray tubes (CRTs).

  • Refrigeration Industry: Evacuation and charging of air conditioner and refrigerator compressors.

  • Lamp Manufacturing: Exhausting fluorescent lamps, energy-saving lamps, halogen bulbs, etc.

  • Research & Laboratories: Ubiquitous in various experimental setups requiring a vacuum environment.

  • Pharmaceutical & Packaging: Vacuum freeze-drying (lyophilization), vacuum packaging.
